Remington's first gas-operated shotgun, the Model 58 (also known as the Sportsman 58) is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms from 1956–1963. It featured Remington's "Dial-A-Matic" load control a magazine cap that allowed the user to adjust the size of the gas ports for light and heavy loads. The gas system was manufactured into the front of the magazine in an effort to keep the shotgun compact. This Sportsman 58 is in excellent condition. The stock sports a nice grain and color. The barrel and receiver show some age but retains about 90% bluing. Mechanically this shotgun is in perfect working order and the bore is bright showing light wadding marks. This is an excellent shotgun for a collection or use at the range.
