Description:
A beautiful Bowie style side knife with a clip point blade, made by Joseph Rodgers and Sons of Sheffield England. 10 5/8' overall lenght, 6 3/8" blade. Identified to Sgt. S. Ellis of Co. A 1st Maine Cavalry. A complete binder of his records are included. Great Civil War history. He was taken prisonerat Brandy Station on 9 June 1863 and paroled 13 July 1863. The unit was in 136 engagements through out the war. Beautiful inscription on knife. Metal scabbard is leather covered. Identified side knives are fairly rare.
