ANTIQUE U.S. MODEL 1836 ROBERT JOHNSON, MIDDLETOWN, CT. LOCK DATED 1840 CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION FROM FLINT AND USED AS A PRIMARY FIREARM IN MEXICAN- AMERICAN WAR AND EARLY CIVIL WAR. BRIGHT METAL SURFACES WITH PITTING FROM FLASH AROUND BOLSTER AND REAR PORTION OF BARREL. 8 1/2" BARREL WITH TYPICAL BORE PITTING. NIPPLE IS CLEAR AND LIKELY COULD BE FIRED IF WANTED. BARREL STILL HAS FAINT MARKING ON TOP WITH ADDITIONAL CRISP INSPECTORS MARKS ON BOTTOM "N.W.P." AND OTHER MARKS. WALNUT STOCK IN VERY GOOD CONDITION SHOWING TWO GOOD INSPECTORS CARTOUCH MARKINGS ON LEFT FLAT WITH LIGHT CHIP & SMALL CRACK NEAR REAR LOCK SCREW. THE SWIVELING RAMROD IS INTACT AND LOCK FUNCTION IS CRISP & ROBUST WITH 2 CLICK HAMMER AND REPLACED HAMMER SCREW. A GOOD LOOKING MARTIAL PISTOL OVERALL AT A VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE, AS PICTURED.
