A masterfuly executed Sporting German carbine made by C.G HAENEL 1917 SUHin 8mm Mauser caliner with a fully blued and tapered 20" barrel with a very clean, shiny rifled bore . The barrel breech is marked .308 , and ,measures about .300 at the muzzle . The action is crisp, and the front sight is a Lyman ramp with a Woinchester type hood, and rear sight is a side mounted Lyman peep sight for quick sighting. The American dark walnut stock has a smooth hand rubbed finish and the fit and finish is very professional, with a couple monor field handling dings, nothing serious. The curved chckered blued steel buttplate fits very well and the LOP is about 14". Has sling swivel studs installed .Nicely jeweled bolt and Bolt handle has been turned down if someone wants to mount a scope. Overall a very nice carry carbine that was re-barrleed , and would be very accurate , a slick package. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
