Description:
An intriguing original Lee Enfield Mk 1 that was upgraded with a 25" barrel and issued to native troops WWI and after. The butt-stock has a shallow brand of a circle denoting native foreaign use. Still has the mag cut-off and the left side mounted gernade launch sight, and the only number on the gun is 00-45. Action is good , and the front nose cap was set back to accomd\odate a different surplus bayonet, possilby and sabe type older bayonet? No sure but it looms like a long brass handle type pre-1900. The rear sight is the 1903 type . A very intriguing wartimme gun that could talk volumes of history . The English tried many times to take the Persian and Middle East oil fields with some of the most bloody battels of WWI using mostly native tropps from India, Africa and other countries.. Interestingly no import marks on this gun. An armory field repair on the butt-stock at the back of the bolt ..When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
