Description:
An excellent turn of the century Colt Single Action Army revolver. The caliber is 38-40 (38 WCF), 4 3/4” barrel, blue finish and fitted with factory, two-piece walnut, checkered grips with medallions. All features confirmed by factory letter (included) except type of stocks “not listed”. This was a one (1) gun in shipment (to Montgomery Ward & Co., Chicago) usually indicating a special order. Overall condition is excellent with all the blue present with about 30% bright and the remainder thinning to a light toning grey blue. Nice case color on frame and hammer, also toning to grey colors. The walnut grips fit perfect and are in excellent condition, showing no wear what-so-ever. All numbers match, all markings are correct and good and all the screw slots are un-damaged. The mechanics are good – locks up tight and the bore is excellent. A great gun in untouched condition showing all the original finish and not refreshed. Formally in the Herb Peck, Jr. collection.
