This is a simply splendid looking, BSA-made rifle that has retained 95-97% of the original bright commercial blue that has faded slightly at the muzzle, along the exposed edges and projections, and a few small spots on the left receiver that has come in contact with the dust cover. The rifle is marked with the Canadian “C (Broad Arrow)" on the knox form, and is marked “FOR CORDITE ONLY" on the receiver, with British government acceptance proofs. The rifle is equipped with bayonet lug, “RIGBY PATENT" nosecap, and complete set of volley sights, however the ramrod is no longer present. The english walnut buttstock, forend, and handguard have small handling marks and minor surface blemishes scattered about the armory reapplied military oil finish with crisp “C (Broad Arrow)" stamp on the right side of the buttstock near the plate. This example of a rare Metford rifled, Government marked and issued, commercial Long Lee, is in excellent overall condition, and would make a splendid addition to any collection.
