#B7278, George Gibbs, Bristol & 35 Savile Row, London W.: A Pre-War George Gibbs in 300 H&H, Made about 1928, Built on a Mauser Action, 26" barrel with a bore as new, An island rear sight base with 1 standing & 2 folding rear blades, Barrel sling eye, Matted front ramp with the original spring steel locking actuated fold over sight protector, The action never drilled or tapped, "Safe" in gold on the Mauser wing safety, Non-hinged floorplate, Mauser trigger, A Gibbs pre-war classic & typical sporting stock, A steel grip cap, Wrap around point pattern checkering, Rear sling eye, 14 5/8" LOP over a steel buttplate, 7 lbs. 4 oz., The blue overall is at 98% that was extremely well done at one time without the use of a buffing wheel, The wood appears with original finish and it is 80% with light handling marks scattered about, The checkering is still 80%, The bore is absolutely brand new and is excellent plus, The screws are all of 90% correct, The piece is very accurate.
