Description:
Offered for sale is one original Colt Dragoon Flask civilian varity with plunger top.  As noted in Robin Rapley's book on page 98, this type of flask was furnished with First, Second, and Third Model Dragoon revolvers until about 1855.  The author denotes this flask as F#35 (page 98) in his 2006 edition of Colt Accoutrements 1834-1911.  The plunger lock screw is frozen in place but the entire despenser assembly can be easily removed from the flask body.  The fittings are tight, all screws are present, and there are no cracks in the seams of this flask.  As seen in the pictures, there is a shallow dent 5/8" long about 1" below the turned collar on one side of the flask.  I believe this is from the period of use as supported by the dark patina age in the line of the dent.  Several pictures of this area are shown.  Flask has not been cleaned and displays a very nice aged patina.  No international sale, only United States lower 48.
