Description:
Outstanding Early Colt Third Generation Single Action Army Revolver, #SA09XXX, .357 Magnum, 7-1/2" barrel, blue finish, color case hardened frame. Rampant Colt and eagle pattern grips are both marked on the backside "COLT'S HTFD. CONN.", with the serial number lightly scatched into the surface. Year of manufacture is 1978. Includes the original simulated wood grain box with correct numbered end label, two-piece styrofoam insert, handling guide, and other misc. factory paperwork.
This revolver is in excellent as new overall condition. Approx. 99% factory blue finish remains, case colors are vibrant, factory lettering is crisp. The cylinder with a few slight handling marks and light index line between a few of the cylinder stop notches. Grips show no handling wear. Sides of the hammer with specks of very mild darkening. Bore is mirror bright. End label on the box is peeling around the edges, remains intact and completely legible; opposite end of the box shows considerable damage, one of the small inner flaps and a portion of the bottom of the box is missing, large exterior flap is detached but present. Box is worn, the revolver itself is very nice.
