Description:
Cogswell & Harrison of London England .303 British cal double rifle stocked in figured English walnut with silver un-engraved oval inlay in bottom of stock and an engraved butt plate. This rifle uses a box lock type action with third fastener in the form of a Greener Crossbold" and Avant Tout assisted opener with very attractive English style engraving covering over 85% of all metal parts. The barrels are 26” long and have three folding rear sights and one standing and the front sight is a bead on a ramp with hinged sun shade. The finish on the rifle appears to have been completely professionally refinished. Note that the two attached pictures of targets show results of load's developed and shot by Professional Double Rifle Builder and tuner Ken Owen for this rifle. This rifle was completed by Cogswell & Harrison in May of 1905 for F.W. Jones, Esq.
