Description:
L C Smith field grade 20 gauge SxS shotgun with ejectors. This "Elsie" was made in 1938 and it has 28" solid rib Armor steel barrels with 2 3/4" chambers and automatic ejectors. The right tube has a standard .615" bore, .005" light IC choke with nominal .042" wall thickness. The left tube also has a .615" bore, .042" walls but has .020" full choke. Mirror perfect bores. 95% rust blue on the barrels that is thinning.
The frame has double triggers and automatic safety. Very light, but noticeable traces of case colors show on the top tang, side plates and bottom of frame. On the right plate there are light "specks" of surface corrosion .
The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are fairly new to the gun. Stockmaker crafted with 14" LOP over the buttplate, 1 1/2" DAC & 2 5/8" DAH with neutral to slight cast favoring a right hand shooter.
Mechanicall excellent. Weighs 6 lbs. 6 oz. and balances nicely between the hands. Great upland game gun
