Description:
NSN, .22 S-L-LR, 23 1/2" octagon barrel with a very good bore that has freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome rifle that has retained 92-95% of the original blue finish with some minor silvering on the edges and bearing surfaces, as well as some further gray fading along the barrel, and on the sides of the receiver. A well-done, added engine-turned finish remains the bolt, and there is slot damage and silvering on the take-down screw. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good-fine shape with only minor handling marks and surface blemishes marring the original varnish. A single, short hairline crack is present on the left side of the wrist where it meets the receiver. This is a great looking example of a nice .22 Remington, and rates very good-fine overall.
