Description:
NSN, .50 CF, 36 5/8" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a nice looking gun that retains nearly all of a fairly modern blue finish on the barrel. The breech-block assembly, lock, and barrel bands have a fairly bright gray patina with patches of darkly mottled brown freckling and pinprick pitting throughout. The block is held securely, but the hinge screw is slightly too long and protrudes noticeably out of the left side. The walnut stock has a reapplied military oil finish over sanded wood and minor handling marks and blemishes. The cartouches are no longer visible, and there is a large bruise on the right side of the butt, a with-the-grain crack is present on the lefts side at the rear lock screw head, and there is a visible, partially legible rack number stamped into the left side of the butt. The rifle comes with a pitted metal ramrod, has a well-worn, later type leather sling installed, and rates good-very good condition overall. Antique
