COLT BANKERS' SPECIAL .38 POLICE POSITIVE (NEW POLICE) .38 S&W. This seldom seen DA Revolver only had a total production of 35,000. This example was made in the second year of production (1929). It remains in EXCELLENT+ condition with approximately 80% original blue finish. There is some age spotting as can be seen in the pictures. The right hand grip shows wear, and there are a few scratches on the bottom of the left grip. The chambers & barrel are bright with no corrosion. The front of the cylinder does not show any powder burn. The action function tight, and cylinder timimng is also tight. .38 S&W will also chamber in this pistol. This example not being in mint condition should be fun to shoot. A quick check of the Internet shows several sources for currently made ammo chambered for this pistol. Overall a rare Colt.
