For your viewing is a 1886 Montana centennial rifle in 45-70 Cal. Rifle has been used for somewhat long range shooting as it has a ladder rear barrel sight from a 1898 Kraig rifle, and Insert type front sight. The original rear sight slot is filled with a blank. Rifle has a few nicks in the woood but the metal finish is in excellent condition, as is the bore. This rifle was from my shooting buddy’s estate and he was third owner. He only shot it a few times. The original owner was from Miles City Montana area. Second owner also from that area, and I believe was wheel chair bound so only participated in limited number of shooting competitions in Montana Two Quigley shoots and a Forsyth shoot. In my estimation it has probably had not that many rounds fired thru it.It has special features for anyone wanting to shoot at steel buffalos. I have the complete history on the rifle, from first to third owners and it is a very interesting story from the plains of eastern Montana
