Description:
This 1940 production Smith & Wesson Military & Police Pre-Model 10 is fitted with a 4 inch tapered barrel, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, fixed sights, and checkered Walnut grips with Smith & Wesson medallions. Built on a square butt "K" frame, this M&P has a bright gloss blue finish and is chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. This Smith revolver is in good condition, with a reblued frame and cylinder. It features British markings indicating it was issued through the U.S. Lend Lease program to Britain during the Second World War. These revolvers were commonly issued to police and guardsmen during the Blitz. The bore is excellent and bright with sharp rifling throughout. The action functions perfectly with a tight lock-up and is in perfect timing. The front and back grip straps are in excellent condition showing very little handling wear. The case hardening on the hammer and trigger is in excellent condition with beautiful bright colors still showing on both parts. The factory grips are in fair condition showing use typical of firearms used during World War Two. If your in the market for a World War Two small arms for your collection this would be a nice addition.
