Description:
This rifle belonged to a friend. His wife has now asked me to sell it for her. I am not a Winchester guy so you are going to have to use the photos to answer some of your questions. All I know about this Winchester is that it came off of her husbands relatives ranch in the Sierra Nevada foot hills. Here is what I see......The receiver has no blue left at all. The wood is quite good. It appears to have wear to the forearm in front of the barrel band from how it was carried every day horseback or a wagon scabbard. The only crack I see is in that wear spot as shown in the photos. It came to me with five rounds of 25-35 ammo which I loaded up in the tube and shot. The tube has ben dented but It functioned perfectly. The front sight blade looks homemade. The bore is a little dark but show strong rifling. I just ran a oiled parch through it after function and shooting test. There is a brand or initials lightly etched just under the serial number also shown in photos. .It has one of those tang peep sights. The rifle seems amazingly sound to me for such an old gun. The rifle will ship in the lower 48 states for $30.00.
