WW2 Springfield M1 Garand originally built in 1943 that is both handsome and in perfect mechanical condition. All parts on this rifle are WW2 Vintage and many are of early manufacture. The SA 2-42 barrel has correct upside down stamping, breech is in the white, and the bore is excellent with a ME of 1+ and TE of 3+. The early long channel stock on this Garand is in beautiful condition, with matching handguards and no cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. The RIA/FK stock cartouche is still sharp and visible on the left side of the stock as is the P proof and ordnance bomb proof on top of the wrist. This would denote a Rock Island rebuild between 1941-1946 and inspection by Frank Krack. All of the stock hardware is intact, tight, and in great shape, including the trap-door buttplate. All of the controls on this M1 Garand are in perfect working order, including the lock bar adjustable rear sight. The operating rod is uncut with a drawing number of -9. The trigger group is 1940 vintage with a -2 housing and -1 trigger guard. The action on this Springfield is both slick, smooth, and precise. The bolt turns into battery perfectly without any slop, and the headspace is excellent.
