Description:
Teec Nos Pos is part of the Navajo Nation. This blanket is in the Eyedazzler Pattern. Navajo weavers developed elaborate patterns of diamonds and zigzags. This example features the serrated zigzag of the eyedazzler, a classic Navajo saddle blanket. Some saddle blankets were woven to be used only on special occasions. They were known as Sunday Saddle Blankets. Woven for a Navajo saddle to be used as a saddle throw, adorning the top of the saddle for extra padding and show. Most saddle blankets were woven with a plain center as no one would see it.  It was a way to conserve the more expensive dyed wool.  BUT the weaver who brought this piece to life, did it with a bang!  It is in excellent used condition and would be great on you indian saddle or hanging with you old west collection. It is from the Teec Nos Pos area of the reservation. Size 40"X28 1/2" We alway answer questions and entertain offers.
