Description:
Winchester's first self loading shotgun. In their attempt not to infringe on John Browning's patents the shotgun did not have a charging handle and some other features held by the Auto-5. These shortcommings were revealed in the field and this model was discontinued in 1925.Although a good shotgun in the hands of someone that practiced the safe handling of the unique cocking proceedures, lack luster sales rendered the 1911 SL a poor performer in the market. They are collectable in the sense that not many have survived and it is increasingly rare to find one in good condition. This example is in good operational order.
