Description: SOLD Factory Engraved Lee Arms Company Red Jacket No. 3 .32 Caliber Revolver, works perfectly. The revolver features a 2 3/4" octagon barrel, factory engraving, 5 shot cylinder, spur trigger, and nickel finish. Most of this popular model were plain, unadorned pocket revolvers with wood or bone handles. This exceptionally rare full deluxe example has full engraving on the barrel, frame and cylinder combined with very rare original ivory birds head grips that fit perfectly with no repairs. The Lee Arms Company "RED JACKET" series was one of the better-made pocket spur trigger hide-out revolvers of the turbulent post-Civil War reconstruction years. These were popular in all sections of the country with all sorts of characters- on both sides of the law. A fancy special deluxe revolver like this was possibly the pride and joy of a gambler, madam or wealthy gent. Surviving examples of this type of weapon usually exhibit excessive wear and often abuse as they were small enough for daily carry. The entire revolver (with the correct exception of the hammer and trigger) is nickel-plated, of which most of the original nickel remains. Shows no signs of abuse or cleaning, fine mechanics, 2 ½? barrel clearly marked on the top octagon flat ?RED JACKET No.3.? Many like-styled revolvers of the day were cheaply made and unmarked. This revolver was made by the Lee Arms Company of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania between 1875-1885. This is an antique firearm. NO FFL needed or c&r, ship right to your door.
