Antique Remington Vest Pocket Saw Handle Derringer, .41 RF cal., 4” round-to-octagonal barrel with brass post front and groove rear sights; marked on top flat "REMINGTON'S ILION, N.Y. / PATD OCT. 1, 1861 NOV. 15, 1864; split-breech receiver with integral grip straps; 2-pc. varnished walnut grips. Mfg’d. c. 1865-88.
Condition is good. Metal retains no original finish but an overall gunmetal gray-brown color with scattered pitting and small indentations, maker's marks are legible; grips are sound with dings along bottom edges from being used as a hammer. Action is smooth; bore with areas of moderate pitting but good rifling.
