Description:
This is a very nice customized Browning Citori over and under shotgun with two sets of 28" inch High-Post Target rib barrels, 28 gauge and .410 gauge.  It started life as a 12 gauge Citori Grade 1 Upland Special manufactured in 1978 in Japan by Miroku for Browning.  It likely stayed in that configuration for quite some time while being used.  At some point likely in the last 30 years it was customized by replacing the factory wood with some very handsome deluxe American Walnut, the metal parts were all refinished with a dark gloss blue finish, and the 12 gauge barrels were scrapped in favor of fitting a set of .410 and 28 gauge factory Browning barrels from another gun to it.  As you can see from the pictures, this is a very good-looking custom Citori.  The dark blue gloss finish is in excellent condition rating 96 to 97%, and the cleaning and buffing job that was done prior to rebluing the gun was excellent, leaving all of the factory markings and engraving on the receiver still visible and clear.  The only place where the factory stampings look a little light are on the bottom of the receiver, which is the natural balance point of the gun and the most common place for wear on a shotgun like this.  The blue finish on both sets of barrels is beautiful and a perfect match to the rest of the gun.  All of the factory markings on the barrels are crisp and clear, showing no signs of buffing or polishing whatsoever.  The bores in both sets of barrels are mirror-bright and pristine, free from any pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind.  Both sets of barrels are the high-post vent rib target-type and both sets are choked "Skeet" over "Skeet" with automatic ejectors.  The high post ribs on both sets are tight to the barrels with no loose joints, bends, dents, or damage of any kind.  Both sets of barrels have an ivory mid-bead and a ivory Bradley-style front bead sight.  The 28 gauge set of barrels has 2.75" inch chambers and the .410 gauge set of barrels has 2.5" inch chambers.  The custom stock set on this Citori is really beautiful and shows only minor handling and storage marks, with both the forearm and buttstock completely free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage/wear..  Both the forearm and buttstock show a ton of beautiful figure and contrasting color in the grain.  The glossy finish gives the wood a 3-D look to it with stripes appearing to "float" over top of the swirling figure in the wood.  The forearm and wrist are both finely hand-checkered and in great shape, with the only deduction coming from a little too heavy coating of gloss clearcoat on the left side of the wrist.  The buttstock is fit with a brown 1" inch Browning recoil pad which is in good shape, making the length of pull 13.5" inches to the end of the pad.  This Browning Citori appears to be in perfect working order and both sets of barrels lock up to the receiver perfectly "on face" with no wiggle.  As you can see in the pictures, the action lever still sits to the right of center on the the upoper tang, indicating that there is a lot of life left in the locking blocks before it will need to be replaced.  All of the controls on this Browning work perfectly, including the safety/barrel selector and automatic ejectors on both sets of barrels. We have no doubt that this Browning Citori will function just as reliably today with both sub-gauge sets of barrels as the day it originally left the factory in 1978 as a 12 gauge gun.  If you have been looking for a classy sub-gauge over and under here is your chance to get a very handsome custom Citori 2 barrel set for a great price.
