Description:
Just in from the estate is this gorgeous 1st generation Colt Single Action Army that was built in 1914. Chambered in .38 special now but was originally chambered in .38/40 Win. Comes with a current Colt Letter of Authenticity which shows the shipping date as August 28th, 1914. The receiver is done in a beautiful case hardened finish. The rest of the gun is nicely blued and near 100%. There is a very small spot of bluing missing just behind the front sight though. The barrel is 7.5 inches with a minty bore that has sharp crisp rifling. The barrel appears to be off a later 2nd generation gun. Has an absolutely gorgeous pair of real "Mother of Pearl" grips. There is a very small chip out of the right grip near the butt of the gun. The action is very tight on this gun and in great shape. All three serial numbers match (on the bottom of the grip, in front of the trigger guard on the grip frame, and on the receiver in front of the trigger guard).
