Description:
Up for sale we have this excellent antique Mauser/Gewehr Model 1871/84 repeating bolt action rifle. This rifle was built in 1887. Chambered in 11mm Mauser. This was Germany's first repeating rifle. It features an 8-round tube fed magazine. Has the original 31" barrel. The bore has some wear and pitting inside but it would still be very shootable as there is plenty of rifling left. The action works great! The original finish has mostly worn down to patina all over with some light pitting in a few areas but solid overall. The original wood stock has the battle scars to prove that it's been at war! Which is what you would expect for a 100+ year old rifle. But besides the battle scars and a few cracks, the stock is solid and sound overall. Retains the front and rear sight. Length of pull to the butt plate is about 13 inches. The receiver/barrel breech has the following markings: Left Side = Serial Number, F.W. W/Crown above, and I.G. Mod 71/84. Right Side = Various German proof marks, 1887. Top of Breech = Spandau W/Crown above. The bolt is marked "819" and the safety is marked "19". The top of the butt plate is marked "4.G.R. E.4.7". Buyer will pay actual shipping cost insured within the USA. If you have any questions please call Justin or Ben at Olde West (530)243-8334. NOTE: THIS FIREARM IS AN ANTIQUE AND CAN BE SHIPPED DIRECT WITHOUT AN FFL REQUIRED. BUYER MUST PROVIDE PHOTO ID AND AN EMAILED STATEMENT THAT YOU MAY LEGALLY OWN FIREARMS
