What a beautiful little 16-gauge Model 21 Tournament Skeet we present here, built in 1934 and fully documented with a Cody Firearms Museum factory letter.  This rare and desirable Model 21 matches the specifications in the letter to a “T” with none of the specifications having been altered since it left the factory.  This gun shipped with stunning, highly figured wood which was a trademark of the Tournament Skeet Grade Model 21’s.  This gun, sn6090, is in superb condition, having its metal and wood finishes completely restored some time in the past and still retaining 100% historically correct finishes on all metal, and the wood having only a few light handling marks.  Considering almost all Model 21 guns have been restored at one time or another (even though the seller insists the gun is “original”) finding a gun that still matches the letter and looks nearly factory new is an event!  Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micro-management of John Olin himself.  Model 21 guns are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN.  From 1930 to 1934 Winchester had only built 2600 Model 21 guns, and less than 400 of them were 16ga. guns, most of them being Standard Grades.  Only a dozen or so were 16ga. Tournament Skeet Grade guns…they are THAT RARE.  This grade was only offered in 1934 and 1935 and is highly coveted by collectors and shooters alike. THIS IS A RARE FIND!  There are fakes out there with aftermarket stamps on the bottom of the receiver, so beware!  The only way to be sure is with factory records that document the gun as a Tournament Skeet Grade.  The factory letter documenting this gun is included with the purchase.  The 26” barrels have perfect bores choked WS1/WS2 and are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun.  The gun is a true lightweight in the world of Model 21’s weighing in at 6lbs. 7oz.  She mounts and swings lightning fast for your upland pursuits.  This is a rare opportunity to own a Tournament Skeet in 16ga. that is the perfect gun for upland game and clay target games.  What a grouse and woodcock gun this would make!  WE HAVE TWO OTHER TOURNAMENT SKEET GRADE MODEL 21’S FOR SALE, ONE A 12GA. THE OTHER A 20GA. IN CASE YOU WANT TO MAKE A SET OF THIS HARD TO FIND MODEL 21.  Call soon before one of them is sold and the set is forever broken up.  Thanks for looking!
