Description:
This Luger was made in 1918 for the German civilian police force. All numbers match. Few serial numbers 4562 are on it, take down, faceplate & barrel, since it is a commercial pistol and not a military one. Inscription on grip strap reads: L.Ka. 33., which means it was made for the Kassel District of Prussia and it was the 33rd Luger delivered to that police station. These were guns were inscribed for civilian use and not military use since the end of WW1 was just over. It has a sear safety typical of police Lugers. Factory bluing and strawn colors are very vivid. Grips are serialized to the gun and Walnut grips are not worn. Magazine is also serialized to the gun, to-wit 4562. Lugers having a magazine serialized to the gun, which most don’t will add about a third to the value of the gun. Please note, the left grip has a minor chip just under the thumb safety. It is a tight, bright and mechanically correct and very well preserved for a 1920 Luger.
