Description:
Browning High Grade (Gr V) Model 12, 28 gauge pump action shotgun. Built in 1990 this 12/28 is configured like all of them: 26” vent rib barrel and modified choke. The only option offered for the Browning Model 12, 28 gauge was the grade. You could get a field grade gun or the Grade V/High Grade. The differences were significant. The field grade had rather plain grained satin finished wood and the metal was non engraved and standard finish. High grade models have very nicely grained wood and checkered in a more elaborated pattern with high gloss finish. The metal has a game scene motif with pointing dogs and grouse in gold on the left panel and gold ducks on the right side. High gloss, deep blue finish. The stock has a 14” LOP, 1 ½” DAC and 2 3/8” DAH with neutral cast.
The metal retains 99% original finish and the wood is 97% with just few handling marks on the left side of the stock and one shallow “dent” (see photo) from a shooting vest that diminishes the wood finish percentage. Weighs 7 lbs.; great upland game gun. No box.
