Description:
This is a spectacular all-original and minty "C" factory-engraved with gold inlay Navy Arms / Uberti Remington Model 1858 Army .44 caliber cap and ball revolver, complete with the original factory American Walnut fitted case and accessories.  Manufactured in 1969, this beautiful percussion revolver has spent it's entire life in storage, never once fired or carried.  The fit and finish of this vintage Navy Arms replica is absolutely superb, and the Grade "C" factory engraving and gold inlay was expertly executed and is truly beautiful (Grade "C" was highest offered).  This gun was a custom special-order only piece and cost many times what a standard Navy Arms Remington Model 1858 Army cost.  This factory engraved Remington 1858 Army features a 3-tone finish with a bright blue finish on the octagon barrel, cylinder, loading rammer, cylinder pin, action screws and trigger, a bare brass triggerguard, and a bright polished frame, loading lever, and hammer.  The cylinder has gold wire inlay ahead of each cylinder-stop notch, and the barrel has gold wire inlay bands around the muzzle along with gold wire inlays mid-barrel on 4 of the eight sides.  The spectacular fine-line floral and scroll hand-cut engraving has near-100% coverage on the frame and loading lever, with various degrees of coverage on virtually every single one of the remaining parts.  Every single exposed screw in this gun is even engraved.  The rear gripstrap is engraved with the initials "R.J.R." (We do not know the name of the original purchaser).  The octagon barrel is stamped on the top flat "Navy Arms Co Ridgefield N.J. Italy", on the left side ".44 Cal", and on the bottom with the date code "XXV", the assembly number "165" and the Uberti factory logo.  The serial number of the gun, "10310", is stamped on the bottom of the grip frame.  As you can see from the pictures, the glossy bright blue finish on this revolver rates 99% like-new, and the bright polished frame is shiny and pristine with no wear or staining whatsoever.  The bore in the 8" inch barrel is minty and mirror-bright with perfect, sharp rifling and no visible imperfections.  The 6 cylinder bores are equally as pristine and bright, and all 6 nipples are in mint condition.  The front of the cylinder face is stamped with a matching assembly number to the barrel and loading lever, "165".  The grips on this gun appear to be period replacements to what would have been smooth Walnut grips from the factory.  The grips are a faux ivory with a dark brown wooden backing plate.  These grips are in excellent condition and free from any wear, cracks, chips, or repairs.  The action on this Navy Arms Remington 1858 Army is slick, smooth, precise, and perfectly "in time".  The cylinder locks up tight and the hammer still has both the half and full-cock notches intact.  There is no doubt that this cap and ball revolver would function 100% now just like the day it left the factory.  As mentioned before this revolver comes complete with an original Navy Arms factory Walnut fitted case and all of the factory-made accessories including a brass bullet mold, a powder flask, a brass capper, a nipple wrench, Navy Arms percussion caps, and a quantity of lead round ball ammo.  The bullet mold has cavities for making both a round ball and a conical bullet.  The beautiful American Walnut fitted case has finger-joint corners, a bright blue lined and partitioned interior, and brass hardware. The front-mounted spring-loaded latch/catch is lockable using the key provided.  If you have been looking for an investment-grade cap and ball replica, this 1969-production factory-engraved Navy Arms Remington 1858 Army .44 caliber revolver would be a superb choice.  This is one of the finest replicas we have ever seen.  This beautiful piece would be an excellent display gun and would be virtually impossible to upgrade.
