Engraved NEUMAN BROTHERS DRILLING SxS DAMASCUS SHOTGUN/RIFLE 8mm & 12 Gauge
A Fantastic Early 20th C European Hunting Implement!
Here we present an Engraved Neumann Brothers Drilling in 12 Gauge and 8mm, made in Liege, Belgian in the early 20th Century.
Neuman made shotguns from about 1860 to 1930. Using the latest modern manufacturing methods of the time, they made guns of excellent quality. Many different styles of barrel were offered as well as engravings. The barrel rib reads “BELGIAN FINE DAMASCUS BARRELS”. The locks on both sides say “NEUMAN BROS”. Both bores have their own hammer. To use the rifle on the bottom, flip the switch up on the right firing pin (which exposes the rifle’s firing pin below) and use the right hammer/trigger. Sights are of rifle type with a blade front sight and an open rear sight both mounted on the middle of the barrel rib. The blade flips up or down depending on which bores you are using.
The overall condition is near fine. The action is strong. The bores are bright and smooth. The markings are clear and ornate. The Damascus barrels are in great shape, making this a good display piece from all sides. The checkered fore end and wrist are still sharp giving a confident grip! A fine quality and handsome shotgun from Neuman Brothers!
