Description:
This is a very good and rare Colts Patent bullet mold for the 3rd Model Dragoon. It has a beautiful and deep mustard patina. The cavities are in fine condition. The hinge and the sprue cutter are tight and yet work smoothly. This mold has very few handling marks. The WAT on the left block stands for Chief Ordnance Inspector William A Thornton. This mold would case well with a nice 3rd Model Dragoon. One almost never finds these eary Dragoon bullet molds in good condition for under $1200.00 but I have been collecting early brass-leg molds for some years so I have priced this one very reasonably.
