With 35 inch long round barrel with 3 barrel bands. Cal 43- . Whitney made only 5,000 Split Breech rolling blocks as sporting rifles. Their standard barrel length was 24 to 30 inches. This one special made has 35 inch long round barrel in 43- cal. I have found reference of one other of these split breech special 35 inch long barrel that was sold by Morphy s. Over all length is 51 inches. Both rear and front stocks very good condition with very minor bumps and knocks, except for one good chip out on front stock just in front of rear band holder clip. Stock has been oiled. Action tight and strong with good strong trigger spring. Excellent bore,bright and clean.There is some pitting on barrel back near breech and rear sight. Please see all photos if you wish to buy. Front sight small blade type. Rear sight flip up airplane type.
