Description:
NSN, .61 Caliber, 6 1/4" barrel with a very good, lightly pitted bore. This is an 1837 dated pistol that has mild freckling in the dark, blue-gray patina along the barrel and lock, as well as some streaks of brighter gray at the breech ahead of the nipple and bolster. The brass furniture was cleaned in the past, and has an overall yellow-ochre patina with numerous small handling marks and scratches, as well as a crisp anchor stamp at the toe of the butt. The integral iron belt hook and captive ramrod have a matching, mottled gray-black patina throughout. The walnut stock has small handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout the nicely reapplied finish, and has a few tiny chips missing from the tip of the lockplate, but is otherwise in fine shape. The action is crisp and tight, and the pistol rates fine condition overall. Antique
