Description:
Here is a scarce version of the Winchester Model 94 saddle ring carbine. It has an original factory 15" round barrel and thus a Trapper version, so-called because these were easy to carry when running your trap lines. Has the correct shortest fore arm measuring 7 7/8" long, as well as the standard carbine butt, carbine ladder sight, post front sight, and all markings correct for a model 94 made in 1923 (serial # 923044). Caliber 30 WCF. Note the barrel address is in the proper location forward of the rear barrel band. BATF clearance paperwork is included, showing its removal from the NFA of 1968 and making it a curio/collectible. Standard blued finish and walnut stocks.
CONDITION: Typical of the trappers, it shows use, having no original finish remaining and some oxidation staining from exposure to the weather, especially at the muzzle end. Fore arm has the typical tight crack forward of the rear barrel band. Butt stock shows nicks and dings and drying age but remains tight. No extra holes and never cleaned/sanded/refinished. Action is tight and half cock safety function works as designed. Bore is very good with minor roughness and sharp rifling. Carbine has been test-fired and it feeds, cycles and fires fine (fired for function and not for accuracy so if you want to hunt with it, you'll need to sight it in properly). All parts are original. Neat little trapper carbine to add to your Winchester collection!
