The .300 Savage was originally a Savage Model 99 lever action round. The Model 722/721 were produced from 1948 to 1962, when the Model 700 replaced them. The .300 Savage is in the same class as the .30-06 Springfield. The blued barrel and receiver are in excellent condition. The blued 24" barrel has sharp crisp rifling, probably from not being shot that much. The factory trigger is Remington smooth and firm. The medium walnut stock says plain, but is in very good condition with some minor use and handling marks. The Model 722 was the 'affordable' rifle of its day. No box or other accessories.
