ENGRAVED 18th Century FRENCH Antique FLINTLOCK .48 Caliber Pistol
Belt-Sized Pistol from the European Continent
Here we present an antique French Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early 19th Century. This pistol would have been carried in a belt and is on the small size for a martial pistol but certainly still serviceable. This pistol features a cane-like grip and a part-octagonal, part-round barrel in .48 caliber.
The overall condition is good. The action is strong and tight. The bore is good. There are a few thin cracks on the left side of the stock, just above the side plate. The areas around the cracks are stable. Light engravings can be seen on the side plate, trigger guard, and the barrel tang. This is a wonderful example of a flintlock pistol that could tell stories.
