Antique “P. BOND” Marked BRITISH .62 Caliber Big Bore FLINTLOCK Belt Pistol
British Flintlock Pistol for Early 19th Century
Here we present an antique English Philip Bond Flintlock Pistol, made circa the late 1700s or early 1800s. Philip John Joseph Bond was a Gunmaker and Sword Cutler whose manufactory was located at 45 Cornhill in London, England, and was an active gunmaker from 1794 until his death in 1816. This pistol was made during the Napoleonic era and would have been carried by a soldier going off to war! The silver accents lend to the idea that this pistol was likely owned by someone of stature.
The overall condition is good. The action is strong and tight. The bore is smooth and dark. The stock is solid and remains in good shape with a stable crack at the muzzle. The lock reads “P-BOND”. Here is a nice 200+ year old flintlock pistol to collect and display.
