Description:
Up for sale is a really nice Merkel 203 e in overall excellent condition. This gun was brought to the US from Germany in 1957, and has had only two owners. It has hardly been fired and is still factory tight. It was kept in a sealed vault for several decades before I acquired it. Wood is beautiful and shows only a few small handling marks. It is a field gun after all. Checkering is very fine and sharp. There is a very small chip in the bottom tip of the buttplate which can be easily repaired. Sling swivels are factory installed.
Barrels are 27.5" choked Full / Full. Bores are as new, super clean and shiny. L.O.P. is right at 14" to factory horn buttplate. Engraving is beautifully executed. Locks are hand - detachable with cocking indicators. Dual triggers with articulated front trigger. All screws are engraved and perfectly timed, including hidden screws. Metal finsh is almost perfect with no rust, dents, or wear.
