ENGRAVED GERMAN STALKING RIFLE 9.3x72R SINGLE SHOT Kipplaufbüchse C&R
Old World Craftsmanship, BUG Proofed
Here we present a German Single Shot Kipplaufbüchse Rifle, made circa the early to mid-1900s in Germany. These rifles were used to hunt for stag and the like, chambered for a capable cartridge yet remaining sleek, slender and lightweight for stalking through the forests and over the hills. This rifle is of wonderful quality and craftsmanship and is easy on the eyes. The frame is richly engraved and features a stag on each side. There is also a cartridge compartment in the bottom of the butt stock with an engraved door. The top of the round barrel is ribbed and the rib is serrated the full length. There are German BUG proof marks on the bottom of the barrel which place this rifle in the range of 1900-1939. There is also an “S” within a hexagonal stamp and an “SS”. Other markings indicate cartridge: “118,35”, “7.08” and “765”.
The overall condition is fine. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The receiver has nice floral engravings with stag scene on both sides. The stock is in excellent shape! This one is as functional as it is beautiful. A true delight!
