Rare, original production, Chinese Shansei Arsenal manufactured variation of the Mauser C96 Broomhandle in .45 ACP, a massive firearm whose production limited to approximately 8000 pistols. SN: 2751 Cal: .45 ACP. Standard configuration Shansei Type 17, with 5.5 inch barrel having fixed front sight and tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1000. Left panel translates to "Type 17". The right panel references the arsenal and production year in 1928. All visible small parts are matching with lightly applied import marks on the left frame under the grip. The left grip is unnumbered; the right grip is penciled "x561". Lanyard stud but no lanyard ring.
Condition: Good-VG with approximately 40% blue, the balance having transitioned to a mellow patina or faded to gray. Comparable condition grips. Bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A rare opportunity to own the largest and most charismatic of the Chinese-made Broomhandles, a true Holy Grail for those interested in C96s or Chinese Warlord pistols.
