Description:
Here we have up for sale a very neat and rare '49 Colt Pocket conversion pistol engraved by the reknown Gustave Young. Serial number dates the gun to 1854 so it's definitely one of Young's earlier engraved Colt pieces. Conversion is very nicely done. You can see that this old revolver definitely has a story to tell-I would imagine this old pistol spent it's time during the war on some soldier's hip as it's aging and wear appear far more due to usage than storage. The Young engraving is absolutely beautiful and the caramel colored ivory grips make this old '49 Pocket one of the most desirable for the money that's available for sale today! You can clearly see on the right hand side of the pistol one of Young's trademark birds subtly hidden in the beauty of the elegant engraving. The holster that will accompany this revolver is a Texas holster that fits nice and snug-I am sure it's not original to the gun.
