This is a high grade rifle with decorative engraving on the lockplate and hammer, that has an overall warm, plum-brown patina throughout with evenly scattered areas of mild freckling, some pinprick pitting at the muzzle, a series of small impact marks on the receiver and breech-block, and an even plum-brown on the “TIDDER & SMITH / LONDON" marked lock. The “5001" marked brass trigger guard and nosecap have a mild yellow-ochre patina, while the walnut stock has a light military oil finish added over scattered minor handling marks and surface blemishes. A small Thomas Turner roundel is stamped into the right side of the butt, and is still partially legible. A heavily pitted steel ramrod is included, but there is no firing pin protector present. The action lock-up is tight and fully functional, and this is a very nice looking commercial Snider in very good overall condition.
