SOLD Remington Rolling Block model long infantry rifle that is the Argentine Model 1879 contract in .43 (11mm) Spanish caliber. This gun shows some use, has nice edges and marked Modelo Argentino 1879 E.N. over the chamber. The Tang has a weak Remington 3 line address with what appears to be some dates on it .. Action is tight and functions fine. Metal finish is darker blue, bore is bright and with rifling. The dark reddish brown American black walnut Stock has some normal dings scratches for a military rifle of it's age, no crack or visible repairs and has a dried finish. It has an original cleaning rod, swivels, and a bayonet lug on the right side of the barrel.Top of the receiver and on the breech of the barrel are patches of fine pits and the right side of the receiver j]has spots of more agressive patches of pits lkike the gun was stored inan arseanl that side down and covwred with oil or grease which won't prevent moisture from getting at the metal. Very strong action and super clean, shiny, strong rifling bore.. would make a great shooter.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
