Description:
A Smith & Wesson, second model American, single action revolver. It was manufactured from 1872 to 1874, during the American Indian Wars period. This gun is a 6 shot with a fluted cylinder, and a steel blade style front sight. The two piece grips are walnut. The butt strap is stamped with the serial number “23518”, and the number “320”, is stamped on the back of the cylinder. The barrel address reads “*SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT.JULY 10.60.JAN.17.FEB.17.JULY 11. 65 & AUG.24.69*”. Caliber: .44 cartridge Overall Length: 13.15? Barrel Length: 8? Condition: Iron parts have been cleaned and are now a gray metal color – Grips are good, but may have been cleaned and or replaced – Cylinder ratchet pawl is missing so ejecton mechanism will not function – Action works but the cylinder does not always revolve – Bore has good rifling but is a little fuzzy. Barrel latch spring is missing.
