SHORT BARRELED SCATTERGUN!
Here we present a Wells Fargo Marked Double Barrel Coach Shotgun, made circa the early to mid-1900s likely in Liege, Belgium for import to the United States. Several Belgian companies made and imported many shotguns to American hardware stores, mail-order houses, and gun shops in the United States between 1893 and 1914.
“WF & Co. EXPRESS/S.F. CAL” is stamped on the left buttstock. While this is not the way Wells Fargo marked their shotguns, this is a neat piece that would be a great representative in your Wild West display!
Wells Fargo will forever be remembered as a stagecoach thundering across the American West, loaded with gold.
