Description:
This is a fairly rare and hard to find German Navy Luger; a second variation Model 1906. The early 1906 model Navy's were distinguished by the extended barrel, the "Navy" style rear site that was adjustable to 100 or 200 meters, and the grip safety. Only about 21,000 were produced. Comes with all original finish, better than most as most of the Navy Lugers have pitting due to extended use in a salt water environment. It has all matching numbered parts, except for the magazine. However, the magazine is an original Navy mag from the same time period. The original finish covers about 96% of the gun. The grip straps are especially strong. The straw colored small parts are weak. Now for the only negative. This was recorded years ago as having a mismatched sideplate. Clearly it now has a matching sideplate (see photo of the bottom of the plate, as well as the reverse side of the plate). Also, the finish on the sideplate is worn just a little more than the rest of the gun. So, most likely someone found a matching sideplate (very hard to find but possible) or they had the sideplate numbered to match. Looking at the "80" , the font and style looks correct to me, but look at the photos and decide for yourself. We have priced the Luger accordingly. With no issues this gun would sell in the $6k-$6500 range.
