Description:
General Specs: Parker, Year 1892, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 12oz, Chokes F/F, LOP 14 1/16", DAH 3 1/8", DAC 1 3/4"
Serial Number: 75778

The prestige of owning a fine Parker high-grade shotgun was afforded to only a scant few in the early days of the hammerless guns.  Once you got into the BH, or Grade 5 guns, you really hit the area of the elite buyers.  At $200 in 1892 it represented nearly a year’s wages for most.  The wood was Circassian walnut with raised flor-de-lis drop points, fancy checkering, and the skeleton butt plate. The action had beaded fences, full coverage English scroll engraving with game scene vignettes on all 3 sides of the receiver, game scene engraving on the trigger guard bow, and more than a few variations.  Until 1896 there was only one grade higher, the AH Grade, so the BH was a big deal.  This beautiful Parker, sn75778 made in 1892, is a very shootable double gun ready for another 100 years of service.  BUILT ON A #1 FRAME (SIXTEEN GAUGE FRAME) AND WEIGHING JUST 6 3/4LBS. WITH ITS 30” FULL CHOKED BARRELS, it is lighter than most 16ga. guns!  The gun has been wonderfully maintained over the years, with perfect screws and wood-to-metal fit, ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES ON METAL AND WOOD, 45% fading case color, 85% Damascus pattern on the barrels, the 30” barrels have no dents, dings, or damage and great bores, ribs tight, and barrels still tight on the hinge and breech face.  The gun balances to perfection 3/16” forward of the hinge pin and is a delight in hand.  The Damascus is in great shape inside and out and are fully able to shoot modern loads of 1 1/8 ounce or less at 1200 fps or less.  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING RST SHOTSHELLS IN ALL VINTAGE SHOTGUNS. The mechanicals are in perfect working order as this is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  Our gunsmiths have stripped the action to its smallest parts, cleaned all in the Ultrasonic cleaner, scrubbed all parts to clean metal, inspected all for function and integrity, properly lubricated all and reassembled.  The wood is full-figured Circassian walnut with full fiddleback figure and beautiful dark streaks running throughout on both sides of the stock…GORGEOUS!  Thankfully, the skeleton buttplate is still intact.  Most of these guns have had pads installed and the the stocks cut.  The engraving is sharp and clear, with delicately carved fine English scroll and finely detailed dogs and stags.  Look closely at the photos and you will see a Parker just the way you want to find them; lots of factory condition and unaltered since leaving the factory.  There is slight wear to the checkering borders that we can sharpen up for the new owner if he/she so chooses.  Nothing else needs to be done to this gun.  She is beautiful just the way she sits.  This gun is very affordable and has all the mechanical excellence, original Parker hand engraving, and handling characteristics hand-built into an original Parker.  If you ever wanted to own a high-grade Parker in original condition this just may be the CHRISTMAS PRESENT for you or another loved one.  Thanks for looking and don’t let this one get away!
