This is a very nice example of a rare Colt Model 1905 Pistol. This is an early example and one of only about 6,000 produced. This particular gun is all matching and in very nice condition. It has, however, been reblued. There is also some freckling on both sides of the slide. The grips appear to be period-correct and are in excellent condition. The gun is fully operational and the action is smooth. This pistol previously had a Colt factory letter attesting to its authenticity but the letter has been lost, though we do have a photo of it included in the listing. According to the paperwork, this pistol was originally shipped to Von Lengerke and Antoine, a Chicago company that was known for its connection to gang activity. The bore still has some rifling, but there is some pitting, 5/10. It comes with an original magazine. It also appears to have been refinish and is a little snug when trying to remove it from the gun.
