SOLD An unusual attic find this Springfield dated 1884 Trapdoor carbine for an officer with the early rear sight , and fine hamnd checkering. Comes with two sling swivels, and the action locks up good, with a 24" barrel and a good bore, clean, mild roughness from black powder shells, good rifling.Also has a round brass plate inset into the butt-stock. Haven't seen this variation before , and has a SN of 523568, with a bronze firing pin, and the arsenal finish is still strong, front sight is dovetailed.Stell butt-plate doesn't not havea trap.Looks like a good shooter. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
